Latex sheets on rolls in different colors

What do you need to get started on creating your own latex clothes?

I have collected a list of suppliers and manufacturers of latex sheets/natural rubber sheeting from around the world. I don't have personal experience with all of them, so please check up on their credentials before you buy.

Below, I have also included a list of tools that you need to have, and some that are nice to have.

Latex Sheet Suppliers

Please feel free to write me if you know any suppliers that are not included here or if you want to share your experiences with any of them.

Tools

Glue / Latex Milk

I prefer to use water-based liquid latex, also called latex milk. It is easy to get from your local hobby store and other online stores such as Amazon. If you are already buying latex sheets, many manufacturers also sell similar water-based glue.

Some prefer to use solvent-based glue. Like liquid latex milk, it is also made from natural latex, but instead kept liquid with the help of solvents. It dries up a bit quicker, but it is not safe to breathe in the fumes or touch while in its liquid form.

Cotton Swaps

Great to spread the glue in an even seam. Reusing a brush is impossible because liquid latex glue dries up.

Rotary Cutter & Mat

A rotary cutter is great for cutting smooth edges that won't tear. You also need a mat, it should be as big as A2 in order to have a good work-flow.
Alternatively, you can use sharp scissors.

Gel Pen

I have great experience with silver gel pens for all latex. It is easy to wash off with water.
It is also possible to use other pens or pencils. Just check that it doesn't stain the sheet of latex permanently before you get started on your project.

Cotton Pads

Handy if you spill some glue or need to wash your hems and don't want to use a cloth.

Cling film

To protect the dried up glue.

Heavy Seam Roller

To get strong seams, you will need to flatten them with a seam roller.
Alternatively you can use something round like a small glass bottle and roll with your hands.

Talc

Optional. To dust areas where the glue is sticky after you have assembled your design.
